At PRL (an Opentrons company), Brian Reyes leads the design for the software team for robots, lab techs, and technologists working in a high-volume laboratory that seeks to impact the healthcare landscape through automation to lower the cost of—and break down barriers for—common pathogen tests (e.g., Covid, Influenza, several forms of cancer, and much more).
Previously, Brian Reyes was in orbit at Blue Origin, Jeff Bezos’ venture that builds, launches, and maintains reusable rockets. He was the first UX designer of the manufacturing software that was used to build rockets that carried people and payloads into space. Brian also spent time in the Big Data space working at Splunk with a focus on data viz and building a component library. Earlier on, Brian was the designer of PitchBook (and its first employee). Brian has an Informatics degree from the University of Washington‘s Information School, and more than a few bruises from the University of Pickup Basketball.
